This was how the story was told - Thursday, July 15, 2010

This tells the story of a girl
and a boy
and the broken way
she loved him
and how he never gave up

Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her
She always belonged to someone else

It really seems like a miracle
that She's managed to find him
and now that she has him
she never wants to let him go again

I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I’ve had you so many times
but somehow I want more

Everytime she holds his hand
everytime her palm contacts his skin
she can't help but feel so warm
so close, so secure

I don’t mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile

Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved

She knows
she knows that he'll be faithful
she knows that he'll be there
but yet she can't help but wonder
if that one day were to come
she tortures him she knows
but she can't help it
she can't control

*Tap on my window
knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get insecure
It doesn’t matter anymore

In the darkness of the night
she gets frightened
she's tried to tell him
but he doesn't always understand
he's the only one
that can make her cry like a child
like a child facing a monster
her monster

It’s not always rainbows and butterflies
It’s compromise that moves us along
My heart is full and my door’s always open
You can come anytime you want

She knows that she hurts him
she knows that he's fustrated and pained
she can feel it through his smile
though he says it's ok
Sometimes
she just wants to hug him
and make everything go away

#I don’t mind spending everyday
Out on your corner in the pouring rain

Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved

So she tries
she holds all the negative thoughts back
she hides them in a dark place in her heart
Sometimes she thinks
that maybe she's crazy
in a perverted abusive kind of way
and she hurts herself by hurting him

I know where you hide
Alone in your car
Know all of the things that
make you who you are
I know that goodbye means nothing at all
Comes back and begs me to catch her
every time she falls
*#

and so the story ends
unconcluded
for life is a mystery
and no ones knows
how it'll end
for now

i'll pray everyday, i promise

What lies behind us, and what lies before us
are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
