The Midsummer night's dream's cast came to my school today.
We had a A&Q session.
We learnt about many things too:)
Below are the questions we asked and their answers:
qns: Why were you choosen to be Puck?
ans: when I went to the audition, the directors
asked me whether i thought Puck felt
fearful of Oberon or does he respect Oberon.
I answered tht he wanted to be Oberon.
That stunned all of them and that's how i got in.
Puck and Oberon was created like rock stars
that had retired on the mantel. so i figured that the
bigger the character Puck got, the bigger the image
of Oberon.
qns: How did the ball idea came about?
ans: It sort of signifies Titania and Oberon. The war between
them, though it was not really a huge fighting one,
created disturbances to the mortal world. The green ball
represented Titainia. Green, for nature, naturing, loving,
a female side. And Orange, for Oberon who was more full
of anger, ambition, power, a more manly side.
qns: Hermia is protrayed as a clever and strong woman,
but why does she bring a hair dryer and a teddy bear
to the woods?
ans: There are two different ages in each character.
The real one and a spiritual one. At such a young age,
and having to make an important decision that will effect
her future, she is clueless of what to do. She feels at loss
and feels that since she has decided to follow her heart
to follow her love, she lets herself fall back to her 15 year
old age. yet, she is strong as she did decided to take a big step,
and jump into a cliff without knowing what is in hold of her.
Unfortunately, this is where the session ends T.T
There were more that were said and i felt that
it was more of a discussion session rather than
a Q&A session. So in conclusion, it was more than
session to me, the shoe and this session was an
eye opener to the deeper waters of the works of
Shakesphere.
The way he uses his language, the different
perspective different people may take
at different angles of viewing his plays.
